MyHouseLogic ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at myhouselogic.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

We are committed to minimizing data collection. MyHouseLogic is a static website with no user accounts, no server-side databases, and no third-party analytics by default. The only data stored on your device is your unit-system preference (Imperial or Metric) and any project estimates you choose to save to the Project Basket — both stored in your browser's localStorage and never transmitted to our servers.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to operate the Service:

  • Local storage data: Your unit-system preference and saved project basket items. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to or accessed by MyHouseLogic.
  • Server logs: Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) automatically logs standard request metadata including IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent, and referring URL. These logs are retained for 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes and are not associated with personally identifiable information.
  • Voluntary correspondence: If you contact us via the contact form on our About page or by email, we retain your message and reply for as long as necessary to provide support and respond to inquiries.

We do not collect or process:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address (unless you provide them in correspondence)
  • Your precise geographic location beyond what is inferable from IP address
  • Information about the specific projects you calculate (all calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser)
  • Browsing history across other websites
  • Biometric or health information
  • Information about children (we do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13)

Cookies and Similar Technologies

MyHouseLogic does not set first-party cookies. We use localStorage — a browser feature that stores small amounts of data on your device — to remember your unit preference and saved project estimates. localStorage data does not expire and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data at any time through your browser's settings.

Our third-party advertising partners (described below) may set their own cookies or use similar tracking technologies to display and measure advertising. These cookies are governed by the respective privacy policies of those providers.

Third-Party Advertising

We display advertising through third-party ad networks to support the cost of operating the Service. Currently, we use or may use:

  • Google AdSense: Google Privacy Policy. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
