Welcome to MyHouseLogic. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MyHouseLogic website at myhouselogic.com (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

MyHouseLogic is available worldwide, but we do not represent that the Service is appropriate or available in all jurisdictions. You are responsible for compliance with local laws, including any export-control or trade-sanction regulations that may prohibit your access to the Service.

2. License to Use the Service

MyHouseLogic grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or professional estimating needs, subject to these Terms. This license includes the right to:

  • Use the calculators for any legitimate construction, renovation, or landscaping project.
  • Print or save calculation results for your own use or for delivery to your clients.
  • Link to our calculators from your own website or social media, provided you do not frame or embed our content as your own.

This license does not include the right to:

  • Reproduce, republish, or redistribute our calculator code, articles, or design elements without written permission.
  • Use the Service to provide competing calculator services.
  • Resell access to the Service or charge clients for access to specific calculators.
  • Modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service.
  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or crawlers to extract calculator results at scale.

3. No Warranty on Calculator Results

The calculators on MyHouseLogic provide mathematical estimates based on the inputs you provide and industry-standard formulas. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, we do not warrant that the results will be error-free, complete, or applicable to your specific project. Calculator results are estimates, not specifications.

Material yields vary by manufacturer, environmental conditions affect coverage rates, and local building codes may require adjustments to standard formulas. Always verify calculator results against manufacturer specifications, local code requirements, and your own professional judgment before purchasing materials or commencing construction. 4. User Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Using the Service to plan or execute any illegal construction activity, including work that violates building codes, zoning ordinances, or environmental regulations.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, our hosting infrastructure, or any third-party systems.
  • Interfering with the proper functioning of the Service, including introducing viruses, malware, or other malicious code.
  • Submitting false or misleading information through the contact form or any other communication channel.
  • Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation with a company or organization.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the Service — including calculator code, articles, graphics, logos, and design elements — is owned by MyHouseLogic or licensed to us and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The "MyHouseLogic" name and logo are our trademarks.

Calculator formulas, industry standards (ASTM, NEC, UPC), and conversion factors referenced in our calculators are in the public domain or used under fair use for educational purposes. We claim no copyright over the underlying mathematical formulas themselves — only over our specific implementation of them in code and our explanatory articles.

6. Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Service contains links to third-party websites and displays advertising from third-party networks. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, products, services, or practices. Your interactions with third-party websites and advertisers are solely between you and the third party.

If you click on a third-party advertisement, you may be subject to that advertiser's terms of service and privacy policy rather than ours. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party website before providing personal information or making a purchase.

7. User-Submitted Content

If you submit content to MyHouseLogic through the contact form or by email (such as feedback, suggestions, or error reports), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute that content for any purpose, including incorporating your suggestions into the Service without attribution or compensation to you. We will not publish your personal contact information without your consent.

You represent that any content you submit does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party and is not defamatory, threatening, or otherwise unlawful.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyHouseLogic and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation damages for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, property damage, personal injury, or wrongful death, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months to use the Service (which is $0, since the Service is free), or (b) $100 USD. This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyHouseLogic and its affiliates, officers, employees, and contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or damages (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your violation of any law or third-party rights in connection with your use of the Service; or (c) any content you submit to the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason. Since the Service is publicly accessible and requires no account, termination typically means blocking your IP address from accessing the Service.

Upon termination, all licenses granted to you under these Terms immediately cease. The following sections survive termination: 4 (User Conduct), 5 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Limitation of Liability), 9 (Indemnification), and 11 (Governing Law).

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

If you are a consumer located outside the United States, nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We will notify users of material changes by posting a prominent notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.

By continuing to use the Service after any changes take effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and MyHouseLogic with respect to the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, whether electronic, oral, or written.
